My Review of Frontier Airlines
Well hey there! Long time no see! I know it's been quite a while since my last post. I'll be honest and tell you I had an extended case of writer's block. Like seriously NO motivation what-so-ever to sit down and write. I've also been super busy getting my new business adventure underway! As of September I am now a Travel Agent with Minnie's Travel Boutique. Minnie's is a Disney Authorized Travel Agency and I am so blessed to be an Independent Contractor for this amazing company! Getting to help others plan their own Disney vacations has been a little pipe dream of mine for a while and it's part of the reason I started this blog. I'm so excited to be able to make that dream a reality on a larger scale.
Anyway...now that you know where I've been, let's get down to the topic of this post! This past Summer I traveled to Orlando and back using Frontier airlines. This was my first time using a budget airline and I wasn't really sure what to expect. Here's my totally unbiased review based off of my last trip!
First off, let's talk about booking my flights. My favorite third party travel site is a site called momondo.com. I had been watching my travel dates for a while on momondo and noticed that Frontier had the lowest prices overall and both of the flights I'd need to take were non-stop. (Yay for no layovers!) I've heard mixed reviews of Frontier so I was slightly nervous but I really needed to save as much as possible on this particular trip so I bit the bullet and booked my flights.
Here's the downside to a discount airline. The flights are cheap but they make you pay for literally everything! There are NO amenities offered besides a personal item that you can carry on to the plane with you. That means you need to pay for your carry on if you have one, any checked luggage and you'll also have to pay if you would like to choose your seat. And of course, any refreshments on the flight are an extra cost as well.
When I booked my flight I didn't add any bags or a seat selection. The good news is, you have plenty of time to do that before your flight. The bad news is, the longer you wait the more expensive it gets. If you purchase your add ons before you get to the airport it's definitely cheaper. A carry on or checked bag will cost you $38 each. The cost of your seat depends on where you want to sit. The "nicer" seats obviously being more expensive. It's slightly more expensive if you pay for these add ons when you check in at the airport and even more expensive if you decide to check a bag or pay for a carry on at the gate. About a week before my trip I went to pay for my carry on and noticed they were offering a special promotion where I would be able to have a carry on, a checked bag and select my seat for only $59. That was a pleasant surprise and I decided to go ahead and upgrade to that Perks Bundle.
So how were my flights you ask? Surprisinly, everything went really smooth and I had absolutely no issues! All of the Frontier employees I came in contact with were very friendly from start to finish. I chose to sit in an Emergency Exit seat for just a little more leg room, because like I said, the seats are nothing fancy. There's no screen in the seat in front of you for in-flight movies but you do get a little tray table that folds out if you need it. Still, I wasn't uncomfortable. I didn't have anyone right next to me so I can't speak to how crowded I would have felt if the flight was full.

Overall I can't complain at all about my experience with Frontier Airlines. I don't know if I would choose a budget airline for a longer flight, just on a comfort level, but for my three and a half hour flight it was just fine! I hope this has helped give you a little more information if you've been considering a budget airline for your next flight.
I'll be back next week with my review of Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. Until next time...
Have a MAGICAL Disney vacation! ✨
